If you find a clear pattern of spam or hacked links pointing at you, disavow them.
Why this matters
Most sites never need this, but if a spam pattern exists, Google's free Disavow tool protects your rankings from its drag.
✓ How to do it
- Review your backlink profile for obviously spammy or paid-link patterns.
- Only act if there's a clear, harmful pattern (don't disavow normal links).
- Build a disavow file and submit it in the GSC Disavow tool.
