Record your campaign baseline

Before you change a single thing, capture where you're starting from. This snapshot is the line every future report measures against.

Why this matters
You cannot prove growth without a 'before.' If you optimize first and record later, you've thrown away the most persuasive number you'll ever have: the comparison.

โœ“ How to do it

  1. In GSC Performance (last 28 days), note total clicks, impressions, and average position.
  2. Count how many of your tracked keywords sit in the top 10 today (Performance โ†’ Queries, filter by position).
  3. In GA4, note last month's organic sessions and conversions.
  4. Record today's date as your baseline date.
  5. Log all of it in the campaign tracker (the interactive lab page) as your first monthly snapshot.
Tips & pitfalls
  • Screenshot each report and save it in a dated folder โ€” visual proof is powerful in client reports.
