Add Bing Webmaster Tools
Bing Webmaster Tools is Microsoft's free version of Search Console. Bing's index powers Microsoft Copilot, and OpenAI has named Bing as a search partner for ChatGPT search. So this is free extra data and reach for a few minutes of work.
Why this matters
You get a second search engine's view of your crawl, keywords, and backlinks. It sometimes catches issues GSC misses. You can also import everything from GSC in one click.
✓ How to do it
- Go to bing.com/webmasters and sign in.
- Choose Import from Google Search Console. This is the fastest path and verifies your site for you.
- If you'd rather add it by hand, enter your domain and verify with the DNS or meta tag method.
- Submit your XML sitemap under Sitemaps (you'll make this in the Technical phase).
- Turn on IndexNow if your host, CDN, or SEO plugin offers it. It pings Bing the moment you add or change a page.
- Open the AI Performance report. It shows how often Microsoft Copilot and some partner AI answers cite your pages.
Done whenThe site is verified in Bing Webmaster Tools and the sitemap shows as submitted.
