Improve Core Web Vitals
Work through PageSpeed Insights' advice to improve LCP, INP, and CLS. Aim for LCP of 2.5 seconds or less, INP of 200 ms or less, and CLS of 0.1 or less.
Why this matters
Better vitals help rankings and keep more visitors from leaving a slow or jumpy page.
✓ How to do it
- Compress and resize images, and don't lazy-load the main image at the top of the page (usually the biggest LCP win).
- Set width and height on images and ads to stop layout shift (CLS).
- Defer or cut non-critical JavaScript so taps respond fast (INP).
- Re-test in PSI after each change.
- Watch the GSC Core Web Vitals report. Real-user (CrUX) data takes about 28 days to fully reflect a fix.

LCP landed at the same moment as first paint, so the fix is whatever delays first paint, usually fonts and CSS. That is how you read a report. Fix the metric that is failing, not the score.
